OK, the BIG NEWS: The Waymores album is pressed and boxed and waiting for us at home! We are pumped, stoked, jazzed, revved, geared, wound, buzzed, psyched and well-lubricated.

By the time you hear from us again we’ll have the album up and out and available lots of places. Plus we’ll have a new-look to our website and poster and… OK, no bowling shirts yet. But the sky feels like the limit.

A Waymore can skillfully cram many bags, cowboy hats, iPads and guitars into midsize rental cars. And Waymores love to drive amazingly long distances, stopping from time to time at “Tar-Bucks” (Target/Starbucks in Waymore-ese) for much needed refreshments.

Waymores can write songs virtually on demand with the simple use of Sharpies and napkins-or leftover food wrappings.

They don’t worry about outcomes because they simply love singing in three-part harmony.

Don’t let a Waymore’s calm appearance fool you, A Waymore will pounce when necessary, grab the nearest microphone and sing its theme song at the top of its lungs.

Hey there Waymore fans, here’s to a bright New Year, and ours is off to a great start! Why? Because we are now touring with pre-release copies of our debut CD! Yes, the Waymores’ debut CD is finally finished, and it gives us great pleasure to share our music with you. Thank you so much for coming out to our shows and demanding music to take home. We’ll have a proper champagne-bottle-smashing release soon, and we so look forward to getting it into everyone’s hands. Hallelujah!

Our first tour of the year kicks off in beautiful Staunton, Virginia and Morganton, North Carolina. All the details are below.

Man are we grateful for YOU!

The Waymores (me, Sally Barris & Don Henry) just played our last tour dates for 2011. THANKS to everybody who came out and clapped, whistled, hit on us, bought CDs and books, fed us, clothed us (we love the tee shirts and ball caps!), housed us, kept the litter boxes clean, let us track mud on the rug, and didn’t complain about my non-stop chatter, Sally’s midnight oatmeal addiction or the decibel level of Don’s snoring.

And THANKS for reading our newsletters, sending us emails, tweeting about us, remembering our songs and encouraging us in so many ways… and for urging us to hurry up and finish the damn album. (Hey we did!)

Speaking of the album, IT’S IN THE CAN. At present we are spreading around some pre-release copies to friends in the biz, including former publishers, managers, suitors, admirers, friends (and enemies we’ve patched it up with), ex-wives, old boyfriends, producers, publicists and on and on… to see if there’s any kind of sensible and creative support available for us now that we have a record done that we REALLY CARE ABOUT.

(And THANKS to Ray Kennedy for his mixing and mastering prowess. He took a smoldering heap of tracks and turned them into a real record.),

OK, more soon on when you can expect an official album release and all other things Waymore. In the meantime, on behalf of Sister Waymore (a.k.a. Sally Barris), Willy Waymore (a.k.a.. The first round of FUNdraising caught us WAYup on our WAYbills.

Grammy winning engineer/producer, Ray “Raymore” Kennedy (Lucinda Williams / Steve Earle etc.) has mixed and mastered our debut album.

WOO HOO!

We couldn’t have done any of this without you, our beloved Waymore friends (some of you waymore than others…we’re not naming names…Michael & Tamara)

But, if you missed round one, no worries!

Now’s your time to make it up (and maybe score some WAYMORE points* in the process).

That’s right, it’s “round two” of FUNdraising!!!!!!

Sounds exciting doesn’t it?!

Well it is, and we wouldn’t want you to miss out.

The next funds will go to graphic design, printing, packaging, greasing palms, Chippendale dancers, wine & song….etc.

I know you want to be a part of all the love that has been bestowed upon us by generous contributors from all over the globe.

That love is way-more than any one Waymore deserves.

As for myself, each road trip is an opportunity for me to improve my erratic driving skills. Willy’s taking the positive reinforcement approach with me. “Way to stay back a few car lengths, Pops,” he’ll say. “I like the way you signaled before you changed lanes there.” Hey I’m trying!

A couple of news items:

1. We’re starting a new round of fundraising. We are SO grateful to those of you who contributed the first time around. Your contributions are getting our debut album mixed and mastered, and I don’t know how we’d have gotten this far without you. So THANKS AGAIN.The next round of dollars will pay for design, manufacturing and that all-important promotion–especially for an act such as ours that’s being introduced to the world.
2. We’ve got some new photos up at our website and a few new short Willy-recorded videos on our Facebook page.
